Talbot Village Connections was established in 2015 as part of a national nonprofit village movement to support seniors to age in place. In 2018 Maryland's Governor established the first statewide program in the nation, Maryland Community for LifeSM to develop a program for aging in place. We were selected as one of the first four nonprofit organizations to become a Maryland Community for LifeSM Program through a partnership with the Maryland Department of Aging. On November 1, 2018, we became Maryland Community for LifeSM -Talbot.
Our mission is to offer innovative options for safe and healthy aging for seniors 60 and older who live in Talbot County and wish to live independently in their own homes.
Maryland Community for LifeSM -Talbot is a membership, fee-based program supported by volunteers and paid staff. Stacey Woodworth, the Service Navigator, works with our members to create a program that fits needs now and can be adapted as needs and circumstances change. Our core services include service navigation, home maintenance and modification, safety assessments, transportation, and social and educational programs.
Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a member, a volunteer, a member-volunteer, a service provider, or a supporter. As you can see from the picture, friendships are made and both members and volunteers benefit from the experiences.
